Have you ever been told that women can’t be sexy if they have short hair? Twenty-three year old plus-size model Stefania Ferrario was told this, but she said screw it and shaved her head in 2012. Stefania wanted to prove that bald is beautiful and cropped her locks to raise awareness for cancer and alopecia. This bold move combined with her gorgeous shape got her highly recognized by New York modeling agencies. Not too long after, she was signed and being featured in photoshoots from the U.S. all the way to Australia. She often shot for lingerie companies and wanted to prove that size and appearance does not dictate beauty.

Stefania’s motto is “Be your own kind of beautiful”. This young and courageous model also wants to get rid of labels in the modeling industry. On her Instagram she has often posted pictures of herself from photo shoots with the caption "I am a model FULL STOP" with the hashtag "#droptheplus". It is clear she does not want to be labeled as “plus size”. I and many others would agree that she is just a beautiful woman period. Stefania gladly speaks at events that promote body positivity and does not plan to grow her hair back anytime soon. She will continue to represent all women and the true meaning of beauty.
