This is what everyone has wanted, the opportunity to drink for a cause. That is exactly what Danbury Chive does. Danbury Chive is part of Chive Nation, an organization made up of local chapters around the United States that organize charitable bar crawls. Steve Kaz came about this idea of starting his very own bar crawl team while watching the movie “The World’s End,” which tells the story of friends reuniting to organize a huge bar crawl. Checking out their website at http://www.danburychive.com/about.html Danbury Chive has raised over $17,480 for charity! “We are a group of loyal Chivers/Chivettes from the Danbury, CT area. We organize charity bar crawls and other events to help promote the Chive Nation!” The Danbury Chive Website has to say on their front page.

This pass weekend I was able to experience this first hand. The amazing group at Danbury Chive and Meghan Kavs put together a bar crawl for my mom and breast cancer awareness. This was an amazing adventure that I was able to take part of on October 8, 2016.

The event started at 6pm in South Norwalk at a bar called Local Kitchen and ended a few hours and many drinks later at Blind Rhino. The event brought together many people for a fun night out of drinking while raising awareness for breast cancer. The night was more than a success, it was indescribable, and this amazing event raised $1605! "Nothing feels better than handing someone in need a really big check. It makes it all worth it. It's why we do what we do," Kaz said. I thank everyone who came out and supported the event, and Danbury Chive for hosting this amazing event.
