THIS WEEKS FEATURED BEAUTY: KATIE KNOWLES

Breaking into the modeling world is hard enough when you’re considered a plus-size model. Can you imagine doing it with a disability as well? Katie Knowles just happens to be a plus-sized model from the U.K. who also has spinal stenosis. However, Katie sees neither of these things as a disability that hold her back, but rather she sees them as blessings that make her beautifully different. She says there’s more work to be done highlighting more diverse models in the industry and she’s up for the job.

The 24-year old got her start in beauty pageants. Katie said, "I'm really excited to be involved. I'm hoping to break down barriers and change perceptions of not just beauty pageants but disabled people".

The brainy law student feared she'd never walk again after being hit with the rare spinal condition that usually only affects pensioners. But she ended up landing her dream job as a model instead. Posing in multiple photo-shoots Katie often models for lingerie designers. She wants women of all sizes and especially those with disabilities to know that there is nothing holding them back from their dreams.
