Knicks; bent out of shape, over a triangle

The Knicks are off to an up and down beginning to the 2016 season. Two wins, four losses, good offense, bad defense, mediocre offense and no defense.
Through the six games, the Knicks are averaging 102 points per game, which is nine points more per game, than in the prior season. The problem is the Knicks are also allowing 110 points per game to their opponents, and are yet to hold the opposition to under triple digits.
The goal is simple, in order for success and to win basketball games consistently, the team’s defense must improve and become more of a focus in practice and especially in games. Knicks president of basketball operations, Phil Jackson, is losing touch.
Reports circulated from ESPN Tuesday that Jackson hasn’t been pleased with the Knicks performance on offense but in particular the number of times the team has run his famous triangle offense.
Players aren’t too fond of Jackson’s offense as some have expressed their displeasure because they feel it doesn’t suit their personnel, according to ESPN.
“I’m getting tired of hearing about the triangle, man,” Knicks star, Carmelo Anthony said, after a recent loss.
Knicks guard, Courtney Lee, recently suggested the team practice defending what other offenses are running for better preparation because no other team is running the triangle offense, so practicing against that isn’t helping in the slightest.
The defense has been so pitiful that Knicks assistant coach, Kurt Rambis, is now specifically in charge of the defense, the schemes, the rotations, and the communications. Rambis also played for and coached with Jackson, so him being gifted the position is no coincidence either…right.
“Whether we’re comfortable with it or not, it is what it is, so we have to buy into it,” Anthony said, on the promotion of Rambis, according to the NY Post.
