Restoring habitats

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection in Connecticut is responsible for a lot of the preservation of natural habitats. Specifically, DEEP takes an interest in the local fisheries, lakes, streams and various other bodies of water across the state.

They aim to preserve natural scenery and wildlife by restoring the habitats of fish and forests that feed off of the streams that give life to the wild around them. Natural constructs often go abused or mistreated by human activities and DEEP aims to restore and prevent the degradation of the wild.

The efforts of DEEP will provide the wildlife with bigger habitats in which to roam and will offer safer, cleaner and more useful homes for our fishy friends.

There are currently 14 ongoing restoration projects in the state and more information can be found on DEEP's website.
